If you're a venue that wants to join in
The Abbeydale Picture House is a Grade II listed multi-use event space.
Opened by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield in 1920, the Picture House was the largest and most luxurious cimema in Sheffield, often referred to as the 'Picture Palace' because of the luxurious cream and gold colour scheme, and dark mahogony seats. It also boasted intricate interiots and carvings, a mosaic floor in the foyer and a glass canopy with a marble pillar to the outside of the building.
Now, it's half turquoise and boasts some pretty awesome 70s cog flower wall paper!
Now in the hands of CADS (Creative Arts Development Space), the picturehouse is a beautiful creative space for gigs, performances, screenings, photoshoots and of course for weddings!
CADS are a charity and community organisation, and through the wedding programme we are helping to raise vital funds for regeneration of the space and to maintain it as a community asset for Sheffield for the forseeable future.
We've tried to include as much as possible in the wedding package so that it is easy and affordable for people. We run the weddings in a DIY relaxed style but coordinate it so it stays stylish, in keeping and with respect for the building.
You are welcome to bring your own caterer providing they meet the due diligence required. We recommend people we know, trust, and who work well in the building.
You can bring your own table wine and a reception drink per person. A small corkage fee will apply. A bar will be available throughout providing a good selection of drinks.
